Goosebumps

Goosebumps…

A man came to my door on Friday, offering to do a survey for our roof.

I explained this was a church house as my husband is a minister. At that point he started getting very excited and said, ‘Oh, wow, that’s amazing. So he preaches on Sunday, does sermons and all that stuff?’ When I said yes, he said, ‘Oh, wow, I’m getting goosebumps. My friend just became a Christian and became all religious a couple of days ago. I’m a bit curious and I have been asking for a sign what it’s all about.’

Then his persona changed. Looking at the floor he said, ‘I just want to be a better father. ‘Maybe this is the sign I’ve been looking for.’ I said, ‘I have a sign for you, hold on one second,’ and then I went to grab a trypraying booklet and passed it on to him. He was over the moon. I explained it’s for people who aren’t religious and don’t do church, and he said, excitedly, ‘That’s me!’ 

I asked if he would like me to pray for him and he said yes please. So I prayed for him on the doorstep. After I finished praying for him he was crying with happy tears and said, ‘I don’t understand why I’m crying?’ I explained that was the Holy Spirit. His actual words were, ‘I feel incredible, this is life-changing, I feel like a weight has lifted off me.’ 

I told him to read the trypraying booklet, find a church and do an Alpha Course. He said there is a church across the road which is where his friend has just started going, so I encouraged him to go with his friend. He said, ‘Yes, I’m going to do that.’
